SAFAL is Charitable Trust that augments employment, employability and sustainable livelihood opportunities to low income households (esp. youth and women). SAFAL is working since 2005.

SAFAL focuses on

1. skill development (provides life-skills, soft-skills and technical-skills)
2. livelihoods creation (builds employment linkages, provides opportunities in various occupations to increase income-generating capacity); and
3. supporting micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (with information, proficiency, networks, resources, tools, and linkages for credit and markets).

To alleviate poverty and contribute towards the social and economic development of the Country.

To provide gainful, equitable and sustainable livelihood opportunities to low income groups through systematic approaches adopting appropriate technologies.

We believe:

If youth and women are

1. adequately and appropriately skilled and employed;
2. work in safe, healthy, fair and inclusive environment; and
3. play an active role in progress of their community;

Then

1. their risks of being exploited will be reduced;
2. they become resilient to cope with stress and shocks; and
3. they will contribute to the growth of themselves and their communities.

This necessitates readiness of youth and women for economic opportunity (employability or entrepreneurship) and creates equivalent demand for jobs / services in local markets.

We integrate multi-dimensional development initiatives on healthcare, nutrition, personal hygiene, water & sanitation, physical and social safety, and environment security and strive towards bringing equity in gender, caste, religion and socio-economic status through all our activities.

SAFAL has succeeded in catapulting the income and quality of life of over 20,000 people across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Punjab.

In next couple of years, we plan to reach out to more than 100,000 youth and women with livelihood enhancement initiatives by expanding the intervention models with partnerships and networking.
